Hundreds of anti-fracking protesters demonstrated outside the Houses of Parliament in London on Monday as MPs gathered inside to vote on the future of the UK's shale gas industry. The activists organized an “emergency rally” to contest the government's Infrastructure Bill, which can deprive landowners of their right to prevent fracking beneath their homes.

The MPs banned drilling in national parks, areas of outstanding national beauty, areas where drinking water is sourced and some other places, but a full-scale moratorium hasn’t been imposed.
