Thousands took to the streets of Mexico City on Monday to mark five months since 43 students went missing in Guerrero. Protesters marched with banners that read: "They took them alive, we want them back alive!" and chanted: "Careful with Guerrero, a guerrilla state."
Solidarity protests were also reported across Mexico.
The 43 students from Ayotzinapa went missing on September 26 after being detained by police in Iguala, a town in the state of Guerrero. Their disappearance has caused a still-growing wave of mass protests.
