Thousands Spaniards rally over anti-protest law
Thousands of protesters marched through Madrid on Sunday to express their opposition to a proposed law that would set stiff fines for the very act of protesting. Protesters with tape over their mouths carried banners calling the measures a "gagging law".
The law would allow for fines of up to €600,000 for individuals suspected of breaching public order. The law is expected to become official in February if passed by the government-controlled senate.
