Mexico Colima volcano spews 4km ash column
The Colima volcano in western Mexico has erupted, shooting columns of ash up to 1,500 metres (4,921 feet) into the air.
Nearby populations were not at risk, but after the eruption on Monday, local authorities warned the ash could reach the communities of Zapotiltic and Tuxpan.
Also known as the Fire Volcano, it is located about 430 miles (690 kilometres) west of Mexico City, on the border of Colima and Jalisco states
There has been an increase in activity at the Colima Volcano between November 2014 and the start of 2015.
