Activists held a “die-in” protest at New York's Grand Central Terminal on Tuesday despite a ban on the practice by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Protesters have held demonstrations nightly for just over a month to demonstrate against police violence.

The series of protests against police brutality took place across the US at the end of last year. They were provoked by a grand jury’s decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of teen Michael Brown in Ferguson and a grand jury’s decision in Staten Island not to indict New York police in the chokehold death of Eric Garner.
