Environmental activists held an emergency protest outside the White House on Saturday to urge the government to prohibit the construction of the Keystone pipeline. Despite President Obama's threats to veto the construction of the pipeline, Senate Republicans may muster enough support to override the president's decision. Obama delayed his presidential veto until a Nebraska state court made a ruling regarding the pipeline's construction. However, on Friday the court cleared the way for construction, forcing Obama to either sign off on the controversial project, or veto the bill and face-off with proponents of the project.
