Viney Edwards, the mother of Ervin Leon Edwards, the African-American who died in a Louisiana jail cell, has spoken exclusively to RT about her son’s death. A video released from the prison showed police piling onto him, leaving him motionless on the floor for 10 minutes. Edwards was originally arrested for wearing “sagging pants,” which are banned in some parishes in the state.
Thousands of people took to the streets of Los Angeles in a show of solidarity marking the 100th anniversary of the mass killings of roughly 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Turks during World War I. Turkey says the figures have been exaggerated, while the likes of Russia and France recognize it as genocide. Lindsay France reports live from the march.
