The Executive Office of the President was compromised in a state-sponsored hack, according to White House officials who spoke to the Washington Post. Although the network contains unclassified information, the intrusion still poses a major threat and is just the latest in an embarrassing string of security lapses. RT’s Ben Swann is joined by Ronald Kessler, author of The First Family Detail, to gain insight into the state of the Secret Service and US cybersecurity.

The Department of Homeland Security is reportedly investigating dozens of security vulnerabilities in medical devices. Although remote hacking of implants and other equipment seems implausible, the federal government has taken the issue seriously since at least 2007, when remote features of then Vice President Dick Cheney’s heart defibrillator were disabled due to security concerns.
