The Ferguson Police Department on Friday revealed that Darren Wilson is the officer who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown. Wilson stopped Brown as he walked down the middle of a street and then shot the teen after a scuffle, according to incident reports released by the department. Surveillance video from a nearby convenience store showing a man with similar physical characteristics to Brown stealing a box of cigars and pushing past the store’s owner shortly before the shooting was also made public. RT’s Anastasia Churkina is in Ferguson with the latest details on the incident.
The White House has still not released the Congressional report detailing the CIA’s use of torture as an interrogation technique. While a full report exists and was written by the Senate specifically with the intent of it being made public, the Obama administration is hoping to instead release a redacted version approved by the CIA with key details missing, according to members of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Some who have long opposed the spy agency’s practices feel the report should be made public regardless of an almost certain negative domestic and international backlash, as former Rep. Ron Paul explains to RT’s Ameera David.
