RT America -- April 30, 2014
Americans aren't happy with both the Democratic and Republican parties. A new poll by Rasmussen reports that 53 percent believe neither the Democrats nor Republicans represent the American people. This figure has risen by 6 percentage points since October, and a vast majority continues to believe the country would be better off if all incumbents were not re-elected. Former governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson speaks with RT's Lindsay France about whether politicians are properly serving the American people.
The Ridenhour Prize for Truth-Telling was awarded to National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden and filmmaker/journalist Laura Poitras Wednesday. Speaking via video call to a packed room at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, Snowden and Poitras called for changes in how whistleblowing is viewed by the government. Among the high-profile attendees was former presidential candidate Ralph Nader, who criticized the lack of interest in the event by mainstream media outlets. RT's Sam Sacks attended the event and speaks to Lindsay France about the award.
