RT TO SCREEN SNOWDEN DOCUMENTARY ‘TERMINAL F’ IN MOSCOW

MOSCOW, APRIL 13, 2015 – The film chronicles the secret journey of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden from Hong Kong to Moscow. The invitation-only screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s creators, award-winning journalist John Goetz and documentarian Poul-Erik Heilbuth, as well as with representatives from WikiLeaks.

“Terminal F” reveals unique details of how Edward Snowden, former NSA analyst, escaped from the United States with secret documents, and traveled through Asia to eventually receive asylum in Russia. Aside from Snowden himself, the documentary features commentary from WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange and WikiLeaks legal adviser Sarah Harrison, who helped the fugitive Snowden leave Hong Kong and travel to Moscow.

The documentary explores Snowden’s motivation for taking such risky and controversial action. “One of the key things that actually motivated me was the growing realization that we, in the United States government, were increasingly making decisions that departed from the rule of law,” says Snowden in the film.

RTDoc, RT’s documentary channel, will air the exclusive Russian premiere of the film on Tuesday, April 14. The pre-premiere screening will be held in Moscow on April 13, and will kick off RT new project – new documentary film club“ClubDoc.”
