All-time Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is set to return to the circuit.

The 40-year old is preparing to replace Brazil's Felipe Massa as one of Ferrari’s drivers.

The seven-time champion, who retired at the end of 2006, has agreed to drive at the European Grand Prix on August 23.

The decision comes after Massa fractured his skull in the Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying stage – and was rushed to hospital where he's still receiving treatment.

Schumacher's spokeswoman, Sabine Kehm, says that he is not willing to make a full-time comeback, but couldn't ignore this unfortunate situation either.
