Kamaz strengthens lead in Dakar

Russian Vladimir Chagin representing Kamaz has won the fourth stage of the legendary off-road Dakar Rally held in South America for the second year.
Chagin's truck covered the 203 km distance in 1 hours, 53 minutes and 36 seconds on Tuesday. Another Russian Kamaz, driven by Firdaus Kabirov, was second in the race, trailing the leader by some 8 minutes.
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday Chagin, who turned 40 on January 5, won the first three special stages of the rally. Tuesday's victory was his 51th in Dakar stages.
After four stages of the rally, Chagin is 26 minutes and 27 seconds ahead of Karibov, who is second in the overall standings. Brazilian Andre de Azevedo is third more than two hours behind Chagin.
The Russian team already has seven winning titles from the legendary off-road rally. Chagin has so far won the race five times.
The total racing distance is 9,030 km for cars and trucks, and 8,937 km for bikes and ATVs. There are seven stages in Argentina, and seven in Chile.
