They've done it again! Russia won the Ice Hockey World Championships for the second year in a row, beating principal rivals Canada 2-1 in the finals in Bern, Switzerland on Sunday night.
I am so happy that Russia won again!!! Great Team!!!
Both Great teams! Somebody has to win in the end. It was a very close game, the kind that keeps you on your toes. Today it is the Russian team, tomorrow who knows! Congrats to the Russian team! Well deserved!
Congratulations Russia! And of course Canada and the Russians are the best hockey teams in the world and is always good to watch them play.
I'm from Toronto. The Russian's played a good game. Bryzgalov played fantastically. Naturally I'm a bit disappointed but hey, those are the bounces. Great game, but keep your heads up Russia, we're coming after you next year! Cheers From Toronto
Lets speak about today Robert. Russia was superior than Canada once again. Only playing with 5 NHL players. The mayority of the players from KHL The best Ice Hockey is simple played i Russia.
My life and style of life - it hockey. It is a pity that Canadians lose life-hockey sauce. What at you remains?
The RUSSIAN BEAR AWAKENS!!!
Reminds me of the good old Soviet hockey days! slava sbornaja CCCP!
Congratulations. Great game and great tournament
I live in San Francisco, but was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am a hockey fan. There is no doubt that in 2009, Russia and Canada have the two greatest national teams in the world. Congratulations on your victory. How about my Pittsburgh Penguins?!
Germans make the best cars (debatable..see Japan), Swiss make the best watches, French make the best food, Americans make the best movies, Russians are the best hockey players (debatable...see Canada). Congratulations Russia, this year you were the best.
Bolshoi! Great! The Russsians have great athletes, art, literature and women, AND VODKA ! Good going Russian national team. Oh, thank you for sending some of your best hockey players to Washington!
The only way the IIHF WC will have any meaning is if it is played after the Stanley Cup playoffs. It does not involve the best players these countries have. Russia hasn't won a gold medal in Best vs Best since 1981 and despite the IIHF rankings Russia is only the fifth best team in the world.

We did it again! Well done! and tribute to the Canadians, sport is all about a game, and the Canadians gave one. This is what it's all about, competition, and two great teams. Well done both!
