Hockey star Aleksandr Ovechkin has received a death threat from a fan on the message board of the Washington Capitals official website, AFP news agency reports.
“I’m killing Ovechkin. I’ll go to jail. I don’t care anymore,” the message said.
The club has contacted the police concerning the death threat. And the investigation showed that its author was a 17-year-old boy from Chambersburg, which is about 125 miles east-southeast of Pittsburgh.
His name wasn’t released because he’s a juvenile.
Police searched the teenager's house and confiscated a notebook.
Washington plays the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL Eastern Conference semi-final. The Capitals leade the best-of-seven series 2-1, with Aleksandr the great Ovechkin scoring four goals in three games.
