Current NHL champions Detroit have moved within just one win of retaining the title.

The Red Wings routed the Pittsburgh Penguins in their latest encounter to take a 3-2 lead in the final series.

It finished 5-0 in Detroit, with four goals flying in the second period.

Henrik Zetterberg scored the winner there to steal the star-of-the-match honors.

While Detroit's major offencive threat Pavel Datsyuk marked his return from an injury with two assists and a good defensive performance as usual.

Going into the match, coach Mike Babcock wasn't sure how much he'd use Datsyuk.

"We wouldn't go with him at 50%, but in the morning skate or practice, you never know what adrenaline is going to do. I watched him in the morning skate and he doesn't look like Pavel, but saying that, I'm excited and we're excited that he's going," said Babcock.
