Zenit St Petersburg have sacked coach Dick Advocaat following another unconvincing performance by the club in the domestic league.

Zenit 0-2 Tom’

Advocaat was due to leave at the end of the season to take over the Belgium national team, but was given his marching orders early after four league games without a win.

He could only look on glumly as Zenit lost 0-2 to midtable Tomsk on Sunday.

Goals by Yokic and Kharitonov both come in the second half within twenty minutes of each other.

Advocaat's relationship with the club had been strained recently.

He publicly said he was unhappy with the choice of new players brought in to replace stars Andrey Arshavin and Pavel Pogrebnyak.

The club has issued a statement thanking him for his three year reign at Zenit, which saw them claim the league title, the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

Zenit's youth coach Anatoly Davydov will take over.

Advocaat's sacking comes just a day after Kuban fired their coach Sergey Ovchinnikov.

Dynamo Moscow 0-1 Terek

Dynamo Moscow saw their title hopes dented by a home loss to Terek

Dynamo were made to pay for being wasteful of chances.

On 60 minutes, Florentin Petre stole in on a defensive error to earn his side a 1-0 win, which gave the Grozny team their first away victory of the season.

Krylya Sovietov 1-3 Lokomotiv Moscow

Elsewhere, Lokomotiv bagged a 3-1 victory at Krylya Sovietov.

Roman Shishkin opened the scoring for the Muscovites with a perfectly placed header, which unfortunately for him, came at the wrong end. His own-goal gave Loko the lead before half time.

In the 70th minute Dmitry Sychev fired in to double the railway men's advantage.

With four minutes to go, Alan Gatagov sidefooted home Loko's third goal, while Roman Adamov's penalty in injury time gave Krylya nothing more than a consolation.

CSKA Moscow 1-0 Amkar

Meanwhile, CSKA Moscow have moved into third in the standings after seeing off Amkar. Tomash Necid scored the only goal at the very end of the game.

Rostov 2-0 Khimki

Strugglers Khimki missed their chance to move off the bottom of the table. They lost 2-0 away at Rostov.

Dmitry Akimov opened the scoring for the hosts, before Mersudin Akhmetovic killed off the match right at the death.
