The best team won. Forget about the Germans. They lost the European Cup and the World Cup. Their day has come and gone.

Wow.........what a surprise?!?!?!? An outcome known much longer before the Cup started to suit business and political purposes. Soccer is a $$$ multi-billion dollars business which employs millions of people and the winner is chosen in advance in order to expand the business and not to reflect a better team. Politically, Spain will hit economic crises much worse than Greece’s and with the attention diverted to praising the nation for its victory, they are hoping to keep the devastated population under control.

Kihnu On the contrary, Germany’s decade of dominating football has just began. The 20 years old young German sensation, Thomas Muller, won the Golden boot! Germany brought grace, speed and elegance to these games. No other times, brought all these elements to these games. This young German team will dominate world football at least for next ten years. The German couch has already made it clear these group of players will represent the nation in the future. Today’s game was ugly, low speed, very low scoring, very bad for the entertainment value. It lacked speed, grace and elegance. It was terrible. Welcome to the new decade of football dominated by Germany. Germany chances has not come and gone as you have falsely asserted. Germany won the World football cup three times. Got to the final three times and come third three times. That says something about the depth of German football history. Now, they brought new paradigm of speed, elegance to football! Germany football style of playing with speed, defense and elegance is now the Paradigm of the future football.

krka If there was fix- happened when Thamas Mueller was given a yellow card which eleminated Germany. I think- if there was a fix- that was it!

Holland in known for their invention of the style called the "total football". Now they have introduced one more style -- the "bloody football". I noticed that after 10 minutes of pretty impressive start, Spainish players, all of a sudden, backed up and stay in that state until the rest of the game. I think after having several bone bruises they quickly realized that they are dealing with the serial killers. The Dutch turned the Soccer City stadium into the Rome coliseum, and the game -- into the gladiator fight. After 30 minutes of watching this "bone hunt", I thought, that when everything is over -- half of the Spanish team will be hospitalized. Basically, the lack of talent and skills the Holland players replaced by ruthless "fight without rules" show. Holland team, go away from my site as far as possible! I don't want your style being popularized. The real final was -- Spain against Germany. These two team are the best in the world at the moment. I would add in this list Uruguay, as well. Though, Spain -- this is something special. It is way better than anybody else.

PR101, I am not sure what you mean by the statement that Germany brought grace, speed and elegance to these games. I can only judge the team by its final outcome in the World Cup. Germany looked slow and bewildered in it's game against Spain. Germany looked it's best against Argentina, but after that they weren't that impressive. We will have to wait till the next European Cup and Brazil's World Cup to see if Germany lives up to your expectations. I was very impressed with Spain and expect them to win the European Cup again.

PR101, I wrote on RT about this fact even before the games started. Here’s what I wrote: “The lady who commented that the Football World Cup is good to watch because it is not evolved in politics, my message to her is: “you aren’t seen nothing yet”. This is a $ multibillion dollar business and just like any other big business corporations, the profit from football depends who plays in the finals and who wins the Championship. This year’s trophy has been decided to go to Spain. The final between Holland and Spain was set up for political purposes as well. Just contemplate on the subject from this point of view and things will start crystallising for you. Why do you think Russians let Slovenia go to the Cup? Russians could have trashed Slovenia in the qualifiers.

krka It is possible these games are “fixed.” We saw evidence of bad referring; I do not think this is the samething as "fixing".Yet, I thought that Yellow Card given to Thomas Muller at the dying minutes of the game between Argentina and Germany was suspicious. However, the idea “Russia could have “trashed” Slovenia in qualifying round is not credible. Russia failed to qualify because its players were not willing train and prepare for a real fight and they have lost to Slovenia the qualifying round. And yes, these games are billions of dollars scam but that does not mean players cannot show real talent in playing good football. There were closer to 90,000 people in the final game and few were Africans [tickets for the final game, according some media reports, were $2,500 a ticket]. But the real money was in advertisement- one billion people were watching the final game. As for Spain playing good style- I think it may win finals but with Germany now on the scene-with new style of speed and goal scoring offensive game- endless possession of the ball at the midfield level-will soon be superseded by high speed- high scoring offensive German style football. Spain must enjoy its moment now because I do not think the team will be able to retain the European championship and the world championship titles. Attention to fits, teamwork and speed is what sets the Germans apart. I think the bronze game had the championship quality whereas the gold model game was unpleasant. I do not think the Dutch should bear all the blame- the Spanish team had only midfield game of passing and possession; they lacked scoring latent and speed- this is why none of Spanish players were selected for the golden boot, the golden ball. Spain won because Germany was not in the final.

PR101, What a show they performed for the public, in American Wrestle Mania style, as if it was for real, an outcome known much longer before the Cup started to suit business and political purposes. Soccer as big Propriety Limited Corporation does not conduct business on uncertainties and as any other times, this time was no exception. Why Holland was chosen to play in the final against the chosen one, it is just another big political maundering which comes from the top of the Pyramid, symbolising all mighty Global power centre handing out a gift to the subdued one. Any why, the desired outcome was achieved and the fans were alluded as if it was the real stuff. Human mind doesn’t distinguish the difference between the two anyway.

krka I think you are “beating a dead horse”! I have agreed with most of your points. Only, some of your points are not credible- such as Russia let deliberately Slovakia qualify to the world cup! There are certain basic instincts that corporations cannot always micro manage. Russia failed to qualify in the world cup because Russia players played terribly. I know there is strong passion for soccer in Russia but this passion needs to be translated into a winning formula. Russia needs to follow the German formula and invest heavily in youth sports development and in time these youth will make impact in football culture in Russia. Corporations manipulate our minds but also we play along. Africa did not benefit from these games in concrete immediate economic terms but this exposure grand exposure is good for millions upon millions of African kids. The opening ceremony featured Somali born Canadian hip-hop artist, Toronto raised Somalia born, K’Nanaan. He sings, among other things strong geopolitical issues including nuclear and industrial toxic dumping and illegal fishing against the people of Somalia. Millions of youth know about western ecological crimes against Somalia through K’Naaan’s music and billions more will know about it because K’Naan was a fixture in the Work Cup [i.e. his voice was used in the Coca-Cola ads during these games. Most Russians know only distorted views of the Piracy in Somalia through Russian media including RT. But perhaps now they may listen to K’Naan’s music and learn about noble people of Somalia and western crimes against this people and their ecology. So, ordinary people can use corporate sponsored world event to make crucial points.

PR101, Regarding the match Russia losing against Slovenia in the qualifiers, I know exactly why it happened but I can’t say. The World game of football is under total European control which is a very big Pty Ltd company attracting as much fans around the Globe as possible and when the fans are hooked up to it, it is like a religion with a Pope as their head with more than a billion followers. The soccer religion is bigger than Catholic, Muslim or any other religion in the World and to satisfy the followers the Pope distributes the joy around the Planet as the situation requires. So, there isn’t any micro management but only subdued and appointed Cardinals around the World centres of football. What you say in your second paragraph you are completely right because through football religion the Pope influences any part of the World.
