Russian Premier League champions from two years ago - Zenit - have completed the sale of their striker Pavel Pogrebnyak.
The Russian international, who spent two-and-a-half years with the St. Petersburg side and scored 22 goals in his 58 appearances, is moving on to Stuttgart.
The transfer is said to have cost the German side 4,5 million euros. Pogrebnyak will reportedly spend four years with the club.
25-year-old Pogrebnyak has also earned 14 caps for the Russian national side, and was even regarded as Russia’s key striker ahead of Euro 2008, but was injured and withdrew from the squad just days before the event.
Stuttgart, who finished second in Bundesliga last year, recently brought back Belarusian mid-fielder Alexander Hleb on loan from Barcelona, and was also in talks with CSKA on the possible move of Brazilian star Vagner Love to Germany. The negotiations, however, didn’t bring any result.
