Russia will hit the field against the Slovenians with an all-new look. The squad has unveiled their latest kit before another training session ahead of Saturday’s clash.

The uniform, which Russia hopes will be seen by the rest of the footballing world next summer in South Africa, is inspired by the country’s history and its landmarks.

It is the same color as the Kremlin wall, with elements of the famous structure also found in the details of the new design.

Russian internationals Roman Pavlyuchenko, Vasily Berezutsky, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Sergey Semak came to a prestigious Moscow hotel to show off the latest items in sporting fashion.

“The manufacturer did everything to make the uniform comfortable, utilizing the latest technology. I am in a great mood going into the Slovenia game, but we will see how I will feel afterwards,” team player Sergey Semak said.

For the first time in the history of the Russian national team the players will have the chance to choose the form of uniform they play in, as two versions of the outfit are available – tight-fitting or loose.

Incidentally, it is the third time Russia have changed their kits during the World Cup 2010 qualification campaign.

The first version was red with white stripes, looking very similar to the outfit of the Soviet national team, while the second had the same burgundy and golden colors as the new one.
