Real Madrid management have come to terms with Franck Ribery’s agent over the Bayern Munich midfielder’s move to Santiago Bernabeu in 2010, Spanish AS reports.
The 26-year-old star will allegedly sign a five-year contract with the Spanish side due to start in summer 2010.
After Bayern’s refusal to let Ribery go this summer, the Galacticos opted to change tactics. They came in touch with Ribery’s agent, who convinced his client to sign a preliminary agreement with the Spanish side. Ribery’s contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2011, which will make his transfer value decrease from 60 to around 20 million euros.
The news means the Bayern Munich and the French national team leader will stay in Germany for yet another year before his dream of moving to Madrid finally comes true.
It also puts an end to Chelsea’s attempts to lure the player to London.
