Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak is on the verge of quitting Stuttgart and signing for English Premier League side Fulham before Tuesday's deadline.

Pogrebnyak is due to undergo medical tests at Craven Cottage, with Fulham boss Martin Jol saying he wants to bolster his attacking options with Pogrebnyak in the squad.

For Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin, the transfer is a done deal. The Gunner has already congratulated his former Zenit teammate on his new career in London.

“Pogo, welcome to England! Good luck,” Arshavin wrote on his Twitter page.

The 28-year-old Russian international has only scored 15 goals for the Budesliga side in 68 appearances, and only netted once this season.
