Pavel Pogrebnyak, currently Russia’s only representative in the English Premier League, has scored his second goal in as many matches as Fulham won 1-0 at QPR.

Pogrebnyak rounded QPR goalkeeper Paddy Kenny to break the deadlock already in the seventh minute, after which the Russian rushed to the fans to share his joy with the fans. The referee decided Pogrebnyak had overreacted and booked the forward.

“I didn’t know you can’t give hugs to fans in England,” Pogrebnyak later commented the episode for the Sport-Express paper. “The stands were really close.”

The goal turned out to be the winning one. QPR, managed by former Fulham manager Mark Hughes, looked disorganized and its task was made harder in the 33rd minute when newcomer Samba Diakite was sent off for a second yellow card offence.

It was the third home league match out of four that a QPR player has been ejected in the first half.

Everybody loves a Winner and wants to be with one, you may think the English love their soccer players but wait until they start to under-perform, shouts of praise can quickly turn to howls of Boos, a players worth is based on his performance and I hope Pavel goes on to Dominate the premier league.

I have to give it to English, they love their soccer players... although this referee is an idiot.
