Milan and Juventus clash for Rubin’s leader

Serire A giants AC Milan and Juventus extend their rivalry from the football pitch to the transfer market as they both desire to strengthen their squads with Rubin Kazan star Alejandro Dominguez.

Sportbox.ru is citing the player’s agent, who says that two other Italian clubs – Fiorentina and Palermo – have also contacted him made enquiries about his client.

Dominguez scored two goals in four games in this year’s Champions League, becoming one of the masterminds of Rubin’s historic success against Barcelona. The 28-year-old, who was born in Argentina, also has Italian citizenship and says he only wants to swap the Russian Premier League for Italy or Spain.

Spanish sides Espanyol and Atletico Madrid have also expressed interest in the striker.

Alejandro Damían Domínguez joined Rubin Kazan from Argentinean club River Plate back in 2004. He went to Zenit in 2007, winning the Russian Premier League, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup with the St Petersburg team.

The FIFA World Youth Champ of 2001 returned to Rubin before the start of the current season, scoring 16 goals in 23 matches.
