James Hatfield and Co. will perform two concerts in Russia in 2010 during their world tour to promote their Death Magnetic album. One show will be staged in the capital, Moscow, the other in Saint Pete at Zenit’s stadium.

The arena is currently under construction and officials say the team will begin playing matches there in 2011.

The stadium, called ‘The Spaceship’ and built according to plans by the famous Japanese architect, Kisho Kurokawa, will have a seating capacity of 62,000 people
.
It’ll be equipped with a sliding field to keep the grass in good conditions during the winter months.
