The world’s most expensive footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, says he's worth every penny Real Madrid has paid for him, Spanish Marca newspaper reports.
”I think that it's a fair figure. If Manchester United and Real Madrid agree to this amount, then there is nothing more to say,” the Portuguese striker said.
Real Madrid were forced to cough up 80 million pounds ($131 million) for the 2008 Golden Ball winner during summer break.
“The great players cost a lot of money, and if you want them you have to pay it. I'm happy to be the most expensive player in the world,” he added.
Ronaldo said he’s happy to come to the Spanish capital and promised that he’ll do everything to prove his worth on the field.
The 24-year-old will officially be presented as a Real Madrid player on Monday.
