When asked by the German ZDF television station what he would prefer to drink if his team wins a crucial World Cup qualifier against Germany – beer or vodka – Russia’s coach Guus Hiddink promised to mix both of them.
With the countdown on for an all-important World Cup qualifier, Hiddink says his team needs to play their best game to gain the upper hand against Germany.
The Dutchman should be happy he's got a fully fit squad to choose from, including Euro 2008 star Andrey Arshavin.
The striker was instrumental in Arsenal's 6-2 drubbing of Blackburn over the weekend and says he can't wait to go against the Germans.
Team Germany, by contrast, has an injury worry with young defender Serdar Taski. He'll have his knee injury assessed before going to Moscow.
But the rest of the German squad is brimming with confidence, with Lukas Podolski saying nothing but a win will do for them.
Hiddink’s men host Germany on October 10, with a group lead at stake in this must-win game for Russia.
