England leaves the World Cup in South Africa after being thrashed by archrivals Germany with a 4-1 scoreline in the first round of playoffs.
Very fit and well organized Germany was the dominant force from the starting whistle, with the Englishmen looking to have absolutely no idea what to do with their rivals.
Joachim Loew’s charges took a deserved lead in the 20th minute. Bundesteam’s keeper assisted Miroslav Klose, who outmuscled Matthew Upson and put the ball in to put Germany up 1-0. The Bayern Munich striker has 12 career World Cup goals now, as many as Pele.
The second goal came 12 minutes later. Another speedy play from the Germans saw unmarked Lukas Podolski fire between the legs of English keeper David James from a sharp angle to make it 2-0.
But Fabio Capello’s men were not done yet, as they found the strength to turn the game upside down. They got one back in the 37th minute through Upson, who rehabilitated for his defensive mistake to bring the game back to 2-1.
A minute later the Three Lions scored again, but the referee appeared to be the only man at Free State Stadium who didn’t see the ball bouncing into the goal from the crossbar following a great effort from Frank Lampard.
The blunder from Uruguayan arbiter Jorge Larrionda allowed the Germans to preserve the winning score till the end of the half.
After the restart, England rushed forward to grab the equalizer. They created a couple of chances with Lampard once again hitting the crossbar on a freekick, but they got caught out on a counterattack.
Bastian Schweinsteiger found Bayern Munich teammate Thomas Mueller in the English box, and the forward blasted through James to restore his team’s two-goal advantage.
Three minutes later Mueller finished the game off, grabbing his second goal to become the Man of the Match.
Germany progresses to the quarterfinals, where they’ll face the winner of a clash between Argentina and Mexico.

Britons scored a goal that was though not recognized. But the same situation happened back in 1966 when Herst (if I remember well for his name - I was only nine then) was granted a goal against Germany in 101 min that actually did not took place at all (to lead 3:2 at that moment)!! I would say that it is only now that England has finaly won the 1966 championship, because the today not recognized goal of theirs counts for the non-existed one that was granted to them in 101 min of 1966. Maybe this will help England to get free of a bad luck that goes with them since 1966.
Well the best team won, congratulation. Have to say that the English team had no defence and no stamina. It is full of over paid celebrities and few players. As for the manager, He has to take a good share of the blame, playing players in positions they do not usually play for some reason. Its time to give the whole lot the sack and start from scratch,it is obvious that playing in the premium league means nothing.

Vladimir Interesting analysis. So, it seems there is a metaphysical poetic justice at war here! I think more than anything else, the Brits need to overcome their false superiority complex. They need to know that WWII is over. In fact, some of us wanted Germany win over England because we got sick and tired of the British press unwarranted bashing of Germany. Yesterday, England was soundly defeated convincingly by multi-ethnic Germany youth. England need to learn what the Germans are doing right. Get these players when they are very young: recruit them when they are children, train them well and teach them good values of fair play, hard work and pride in their own ability to win. This will take them a while but since they cannot defeat the Germans in the football fields in the world stage, perhaps they can join the Germany by learning from what the Germans are doing right.
