Dynamo Moscow have extended their contract with head coach Andrey Kobelev. The young 40-year-old trainer will stay with the club through the end of 2011.
Kobelev spent eight years in the Moscow club as a footballer, scoring 46 goals in 263 games. And Dynamo became the first club of his coaching career.
He took charge in 2006, saving the team from relegation, and won bronze medals last season to allow the Blue-and-Whites to take a shot at the UEFA Champions League.
Dynamo were beaten by Celtic in the third qualifying round of the Champion's League competition, 2-1 on aggregate.
But the team is doing well in the Russia’s Premier League as they sit in 4th place, 7 points behind leaders Rubin Kazan.
