Football star Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded a pay rise from Real Madrid after finding out, how much money his colleague Samuel Eto’o gets at Anzhi Makhachkala.
According to the Catalan Sport newspaper, there’s a clause in Cristiano’s contract which states that he has to remain the world’s highest paid player.
And it was so when the deal was struck in 2009. But last summer Russian side Anzhi persuaded Eto’o to leave Inter Milan for the record salary of €20 million per year.
Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is reported to be in talks with Real’s administration, demanding them to revise his client’s contract so he can earn more.
The Portuguese player is threatening to leave the club if his terms aren’t met.
Cristiano’s current deal with the Madrid giants adds €13 million to his bank account every year until it expires in 2015.
It’s worth mentioning that the Sport newspaper is based in Barcelona and, therefore, always critical when it reports about Real Madrid.
Ronaldo has already scored 34 goals in different competitions for Real this season as the Madrid side are well on course to clinching their first Spanish La Liga title since 2008.

Eto’o also plays a goodwill ambassador because he has a clean and moral personality. Eto is more than just a talent footballer.

@Raen, I am sure you are from the outter space. Otherwise I do not understand how you can shamelessly say "Eto'o didn't contribute much to the 4 trophies in his account.....". You may do yourself some justice if you could go back and look at the stats. For Pete sake, he did score in one of the finals. Is that not a contribution?
