The deep pockets of Manchester City have once again been thrust into. One of the richest clubs in the world has forked out 25 million pounds for Carlos Tevez.

The Argentine attacker has become one of the very few players to sign for City from Manchester United.

The 25-year-old had in fact left the club last month, but it was only on Monday that the deal with Mark Hughes and co. was confirmed.

Tevez completed his move on a five-year deal after passing his medical examination.

Well-liked by United fans, the Buenos Aires native failed to nail down a starting place with the English champions – but still managed to find the net an impressive 19 times in his two years at Old Trafford. During this period, Tevez won two Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Club World Cup.

The deal with the group that owned Tevez's economic rights has been ratified by the league and the Football Association. It will see City assume total registration rights, drawing a line under the contract dispute that has lingered since Tevez joined West Ham in 2006.

Meanwhile, as one striker leaves, another enters the fray at Old Trafford. Michael Owen was introduced to the media for the first time as a Manchester United player on Monday.

The 29-year-old joined United on a two-year deal in a surprise move after his contract expired at relegated Newcastle.

Owen is one of three summer signings at the club, along with Antonio Valencia and Gabriel Obertan, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson saying that’s now quite enough.
