Famous Czech beer brewer Stanislav Bernard has promised 80 liters of his country’s national drink for each Slovakian team player if they beat Slovenia in World Cup 2010 qualifier, Slovakian SITA news agency reports.
The Czech team so far has had a rather unsuccessful campaign for South Africa 2010. Ivan Hašek’s men currently sit fourth in their Group 3, two points away from second placed Slovenia.
So the Czech’s need to beat Poland on October 10 and hope for group leaders Slovakia to gain a win over the Slovenians, in order to keep the chance to grab the second spot in the group ahead of the clash with third placed Northern Ireland on the final match day.
The first team in the group gets an automatic qualification for South Africa, while the runners up would have to face a second placed team from another group in the playoffs.
The Czech team hasn’t missed a major tournament since Euro 2004.
Stanislav Bernard, who launched his business in 1991 as a revival of a Humpolec brewery constructed in the 16th century, is known for producing traditional unpasteurised beer.
