Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claims the Gunners’ Russian star Andrey Arshavin may become “an all-time great” in the future, The Guardian reports.
“He has a big challenge in front of him,” said Wenger, “because he made Zenit St Petersburg win and, if he manages to make Arsenal win, he will become an all-time great. I am convinced he has all the potential to do it.”
Arsenal will entertain Blackburn at home on Sunday. The London side hopes to extend their run of five consecutive victories in all competitions. Ever more increasingly influential at Arsenal, Andrey Arshavin is regarded as the man who may bring the Gunners back to the top.
Since moving from St. Petersburg to London, Arshavin scored seven times in his 16 appearances for Arsenal and has garnered a dozen of assists, which has made him the most effective player in England’s top competition.
