Brazilian international Adriano has gone back to his roots at the club level just over a month after walking out of Inter Milan, saying he needed a rest from the game.

The 27-year-old is getting himself back into playing shape as he plans to turn out for Flamengo later this month.

The Brazilian side could use the skills of the former Inter striker after failing to score any goals in their last three games.

Adriano will look to add some offensive flair to the team for which he started his career as a youth player.

The Rio native says he'll be back to match fitness by the end of the month.

He is scheduled to make his return against Atletico Paranaense in the fourth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

"I know I'm overweight but not as big as people say. But this is normal. I can assure you that, in 15 days, I will be ready to play," the forward says.
