The IBF, WBO and newly crowned WBA heavyweight champ, Wladimir Klitschko, says he has no respect for David Haye, despite the British fighter’s claims that he was boxing with a broken finger on his leg.

­“No, I didn’t start respecting him. For me, it looks like an excuse. In a sport, it’s not polite to speak about health problems after a loss,” Wladimir Klitschko told Sportbox.ru.

The Ukrainian deprived Haye of his WBA title, winning their Saturday bout by unanimous decision of the judges.

Prior to the match, the British boxer had made plenty of comments about the Klitschko brothers, and even appeared wearing a T-shirt showing him holding their decapitated heads.

Wladimir said he wanted to punish Haye for all the insults and he is a bit disappointed that he failed to knock his opponent out.

“Haye was very alert throughout the whole 12 rounds. He realized that if he loses concentration even for a second the fight may end in the most unpleasant way for him. My combinations didn’t work due to the fact that Haye was moving very quickly,” the 35-year-old explained.

But the champ still believes he proved who the better man in the ring was.  

“From the very first minute of the bout I felt that I’m dominant in the ring. And that was my goal – to win each round. I feel great, although – for the first time in a long period – I have dark circles under my eyes. The main thing in our business is victory and I think I won with confidence,” he said.

By defeating Haye, Klitschko has fulfilled the dream of unifying the four most prestigious heavyweight titles in one family, as his elder brother, Vitaly, wears the WBC crown.

“I don’t think it was the pinnacle moment. I have another great idea, but it’s too early to talk about now. I'll have enough time to figure out what to do next,” Wladimir said.

Wladimir Klitschko’s record in the ring is 56 wins (49 KO) and three defeats, with his winning streak lasting for 14 bouts.
