Ukrainian boxing champ Vitaly Klitschko comes to his WBC title defense against US Chris Arreola weighing 114.3 kilograms – heavier than ever before in his career.

The official weigh-in took place at L.A’s Staples center, where the two heavyweights will clash this Saturday.

Home favorite Chris Arreola made the audience laugh, stepping on the scale wearing a T-shirt and weighing an enormous 123.4 kilograms. Then he quickly took the T-shirt off and revealed a weighted vest.

Arreola’s real weight was 113.9 (kilograms). The 28-year-old claimed to be “losing tons of weight” preparing to become the first Mexican-American to win the world heavyweight crown, and indeed he got 1.9 kilograms lighter in comparison with his last bout against Jameel McCline.

Arreola is so far undefeated in the ring. The boxer, whose nickname is “The Nightmare”, holds the number one position in the WBC rankings and boasts a perfect 27-0 record with 24 knockouts.

Vitaly “Dr Steel Hammer” Klitschko is ten years older than his opponent. He has an impressive 39-2 record with 37 knockouts. This will be the Ukrainian’s second heavyweight title defense since returning from injury last October.
