Current IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Vitaly Klitschko remains on top of the sport after beating American Kevin Johnson.

Though the fighters slugged out all 12 rounds, the bout in Bern, Switzerland, was indeed a one-man show.

The previously unbeaten Johnson, 30, appeared more intent on survival than victory and looked out of his league. Meanwhile, Klitschko, 38, was pragmatic in defense and efficient in offense, and ultimately that brought him a unanimous victory on points.

The judges in Switzerland scored the fight 120-108 and 119-109 in Klitschko's favor.

This was Klitschko’s third defense of the WBC title, which he regained after beating Samuel Peter of Nigeria in September 2008, and his first appearance in the ring after beating another American, Chris Arreola, on September 26, 2009.

Thus, Dr. Iron Fist improved his record to 39 wins in 41 fights, with 37 by knockout, and two losses.

He is now a target for Britain's WBO heavyweight champion, David Haye.

David Haye has had his chance to fight both klitschko's and did not want to fight them. I do not believe he will fight either one. He talks a big game. Some one in boxing seems to want David on the score board. Boxing fan

This fight was the first one I watched of Vitaly Klitschko. I agree he won that fight completely, but I am surprised at Heavy Weight Boxing. The days of the Heavy Hitters seems gone. I found my self screaming for them to actually hit each other. Johnson just kept dirty talking Vitaly and moving about like a Turtle and Klitschko just kept up with the jabs which were sometimes answered by Kevin Johnson. Gone are the day of the 3 round fights when the UnOrthodox Boxer, Mike Tyson was in his prime! He would of knocked anyone's block off. Back then boxing rounds were done in a few rounds due to something that could be described with one word, FEROCITY!!!!! Now its the age of Boxing Ballet and Pink Tutus. Wake me up on the dawning of a new age. =former Boxing Fan.
