American heavyweight Eddie Chambers has won the right to challenge Ukrainian champ Wladimir Klitschko for his WBO belt.
‘Fast’ Eddie Chambers, as he is known, used his pace to defeat another would-be contender: Klitschko’s countryman, Alexander Dimitrenko of Ukraine.
The 27-year-old secured a ‘mandatory challenger’ status after winning by a majority decision in Hamburg on Saturday.
Chambers has only lost once in 36 fights, going down to Russian Alexander Povetkin in January last year, and missing out on a shot at an IBF crown.
And a fight with Povetkin is also on Wladimir Klitschko’s schedule, as he is Dr Steelhammer’s mandatory challenger for the IBF crown.
Haye will finally have his chance at Klitschko… but the other oneBritish heavyweight David Haye will eventually fight Klitschko, only it won’t be the IBF and WBO champ Wladimir, but his elder brother, WBC belt holder Vitaly, German Bild daily reports. |

Hello, I strongly feel the only man to challenge either of the Klitschko brothers should be Eddie Chambers. Why? Because he has proved himself worthy of being in the same ring with either of those to very serious heavyweights. Some of those fighter's are well past their prime & others are just trying to receive a huge payday. David Hay would probably get knocked out the fastest of those heavyweights who are trying to challenge the Klitschko brothers. Chris Arreola also deserves a chance to fight one of the brothers however he will get knocked out very quickly due to his lack of experience.
