Trump ‘working hard’ to bag Olympic Games for LA

US President Donald Trump has stated that his administration is working on a bid to host the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

“Working hard to get the Olympics for the United States (L.A.). Stay tuned!” says a tweet posted on the official account of the 45th American President.

Sports news outlet insidethegames.com reported in June that Trump had met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) head Thomas Bach at the White House.

According to an IOC statement sent to the website, Trump has confirmed his support for Los Angeles’ candidature.

At the moment, Los Angeles has only one rival – Paris, France – in its bid to host the Summer Games in 2024 or 2028.

Four other candidate cities – Boston, Rome, Budapest, and Hamburg – withdrew their bids earlier.

The United States has hosted eight Olympic Games, more than any other country. The most recent was the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City.
