​Islamic franch-ISIS? Ft. Robert Hathaway, ex-Asia Program Director, Wilson Center

Brand, expand and franchise – the Islamic State has borrowed this business model to successfully globalize its operations. And as the US draws down its forces in Afghanistan, it leaves behind a security void in the Central Asian region that IS has rushed to fill.
