China slowdown, Canada recession, market mess

World stocks took a tumble on Tuesday as activity in China’s manufacturing sector contracted at its fastest pace in three years. The official Purchasing Managers’ Index fell to 49.7 in August from the previous month’s reading of 50. And Alberta, Canada – a once oil-booming province – just gave its first fiscal update under the new NDP government and it paints a pretty ugly picture. Ameera David weighs in. Erin Ade sits down with Max Wolff – chief economist at Manhattan Venture Partners – to talk tech. Ameera and Erin discuss Samsung’s flagging smartphone sales.

After the break, Bianca Facchinei takes a look at the economic issues regarding the European migrant crisis. Ameera is then joined by Gary Leff – co-founder of Milepoint.com and blogger at “View from the Wing” – to discuss the latest in the travel industry. And in The Big Deal, Ameera and Edward Harrison continue the discussion on Canada’s economy.

Take a look!
