Excelent work so far from the Polish Police, who seem to be doing law indepedently of Political influence. Now let's get the extradition request in and see if the Judiciary can also do law independent of politics. The only way to defeat terrorism is by the application of law and the development of further law to thwart it. In regards to the development of further law, a UN resolution should be obtained to ban the harbouring and formation of parallel governments in any state whatsoever. Such an action is technically arguable as illegal under current international law. However, it is better to be crystal clear on this point, to prevent terrorist camps and subversive headquarters being set up in host countries.

It look to me after all, that he will not come to Russia in the end....It's part of show and nothing more in my opinion. Western governments protect terrorist from Russia! If I am wrong can somebody explane to me how is possible that almost all of them find their new home in Europe. This man is responsible among other things for killing in just one terrorist atack more than 200 Russian policeman....About 100 of civilians who die from his hands is also well known fact! If he is not a terrorist than I don't know who is! Even kids under age with few words spoken against West in their own land or just been on the wrong spot, who never kill nobody are branded terrorist and put in prison....but real mass murderers-terrorist of Russian citizens walk free in "democtatic Europe". Count Cash, I think extradition will not follow.... Sadly, he will return in Britain and make "fiesta" celebration with some others terrorist who live there included some wanted in Russia for their conection in Beslan scool massacre(hundrets of killed kids)....Thank you.

This is tough nut to crack for Moscow. Poland shown its goodwill by arresting him, but because of the pressure from the EU had to let him go. In this relation Poland has nothing to be ashamed for and the blame will had to be taken by the EU if Moscow would like to look who is guilty. Regarding the argument that Western Europe hides russian terrorists - it works both ways. In Russia there are many european mobsters, criminals and serial killers who have protection of the russian state.

As I wrote previously, Russian leadership is weak. If Englishs allow terrorists and crooks like Berezovsky to live freely in their country; then why not telling BP and all British business to get out of Russia. Capitalists have only money in their brain and the best way to hurt them is in their pocket-book. That is all that they know. A strong leadership will understand this quickly and apply it. That is all ! Best Regards...JCM

We (Poles) don't really want to have another regress in improving our relations with Russia, but this case is very hard to solve to make all of the sides satisfied. The public opinion is very negative about extradicting Zakhayev to Russia, as it sees it the extradiction as a very cowardly gesture, you can't just invite someone to your country and then extradict him to his biggest enemy. I'm not very familiar in Zakhayev actions, I don't know if he's responsible of the Beslan massacre, if he is, he should have been punished. Russia can be lying about his actions though, as they aren't very democratic and respectful in it's actions in Chechenya. Plus the Poland also is of course a member of the EU, and if UK gives Zakhayev political asylum, it seems we have to share it too. Anyways, I really don't want Zakhayev's case to break Polish-Russian relations again, as nobody else really wants to.

It does look like it is for the show but I would not be too quick to judge, Poland crossed paths with Israel when they arrested an alleged Mossad spy Uri Brodsky and extradited him to Germany and believe me Brodsky was a bigger shot than this Zakayev guy, Russia plays the cards well they can be successful in extraditing him.
