On the 65th anniversary of the end of the World War II, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin spoke of his family’s war-time struggle during the blockade of Leningrad.
Vladimir Putin is viewed a hero by his people. And, yet this great statesman and a son of soldier of WWII is so much hated by some in the West because of his overt patriotism for his country and people. Thank you RT for posting this important interview with Prime Minister Putin. Now, we know something about where this man came from and how his views are shaped and formed.
I wish Vladimir Putin was our president here in America. He is a great man. A real man of purpose unlike Obama who is spineless.
So sad. The Russian people are so brave and strong. I've just now started to realize how much all of Europe suffered during that time. Like someone opened the gates of hell. Yes it was planned, but by whom? The bankers, weapons manufacturers, the oil companies? Oh, speaking of oil companies, could we get the Russians to come to the Gulf Coast and set off some nukes? We seem to have a bit of a spill. Seriously, send the Russians please! After the cold war, wouldn't that be wonderful irony?
Karen Why not sent Sarah Palin and all here fundamentalist troopers who have been singing the hymn of drill baby drill. Where is John McCain, GWB and all the other U.S oil men who are convinced that it is in the Bible that man exploits the earth without any regard to the environment? This blog tells a story of famine, suffering and heroism of Leningrad. Calm down, show respect and listen to Shostakovich’s 7th symphony about the suffering, heroism of the hero city of Leningrad. On the other hand, I can assure you if you ask them politely, the Russian will come to your rescue. They came up with the most ingenious solutions when all seems hopeless. See Burt Lancaster’s narration of Roman Karmen long documentary about fighting Russia the Unknown War.
Red Star, I meant no disrespect. Please forgive. I don't want what happened in WW2 to ever happen again. Thank you for telling me about this documentary. We weren't told about any of this growing up in the west. I think krka is right, though. This was a planned tragedy. Certain things aren't adding up. Germany didn't have any money or power after WWI, but somehow they got this war machine going. Where did they get the money for that? Stalin had to industrialize the Soviet Union to get ready for war? The Iraq War was all planned out in the nineties. Sorry, off topic again. Hitler wanted to kill the Jews, but somehow the rich Jewish bankers weren't offed. Oh and by the way, look up "Operation Paperclip". Some of those Nazis came to the states. I hope the people who suffered and died in the war would want us to get to the bottom of this. I am so sick of all of it. I will ask these questions and I won't apologize for it.
May 10, 2010, 16:44, The Red Star wrote GWB and all the other U.S oil men who are convinced that it is in the Bible that man exploits the earth without any regard to the environment? It is always a shame to cite GWB and Mrs. Palin without remembering Mr. Al Gore. At a global warming conference held in Shenzhen in 2004, he was asked if there could be any difference between U.S. national interests and the national interests of other countries. A tad unprepared for such a question, he finally answered: "No, because the principles of the U.S. Constitution come from God."

I hope very soon one day those who were responsible for the tragedy of the WW2 are brought to justice and it is not what the history is teaching us. What Putin is talking about was a planned tragedy on a grand scale to inflict onto the humanity by a handful very reach people and this fact must be brought out into the light.
