Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil

Women in India have long been sidelined from politics, but that could be about to change, with a new bill approved by the upper house of parliament this week on setting aside one third of the seats for women.

It may not be such a bad idea. Excepted a few like Margaret Tatcher and Catherine The Great, most women head of states have been peaceful, socially and family oriented. The World needs a complete rethinking of its political and business leadership. We cannot keep on wasting indefinitely our energy and insane amounts of money for our useless and self-destructing industries. Women are also less fanatical than men. There is no Ben Ladden lady in the feminine gent. Those who carry bombs are just victims brainwashed by men. Best Regards...Jean-Claude Meslin

I dont think that would change anything. There are some women who would stay clean, but anyone who goes into the establishment in India will get corrupted , even if its against their principles. The way to change this is to change the standards of education. It will take a couple of decades, but more and more people are getting educated and that will change things. The media has to concentrate more on politics than on stupid bollywood for a change. Everything should be said , and the truth should reach all 1 billion Indians. That way no politician will be able to be corrupt. In fact right now, it is a crime syndicate at every stage of government in India, and includes the armed forces, law enforcement, public sector undertakings etc. As long as people are people there will be corruption. It is up to the media and investigative journalism to find out the facts and expose these corrupt people. And then it is up to the people of India, and the " free " ( joke) judiciary to put these people behind bars. So it is not so much a man thing. The poor woman who gets sent to this crime syndicate will discover that if she does not adhere to the corrupt policies, she wont survive.

Oh my heavens, that is not true. Take one look at Hilary Clinton, and you'll see that women can be just as bad as men. By claiming that they are less 'corruptible' than men, you're making women out to be somehow superior to the human condition. In fact, you're making them out to be super-human. They are just as human as anyone else, and just as corruptible. The reason that this female superiority myth continues is simply because women have not had as much of an opportunity to achieve the same levels of power as men, and therefore the same levels of corruption as men. Put in the same spot, the percentages would be equal. Take for example the increasing prevalence of female mafia-heads in Italy: when the opportunity is there, they take it just as readily. I'll also put forth the fact that, on the corporate level, most women prefer working under male bosses rather than female ones. This is because they find working under other women to be more difficult than under men. Women bosses are usually felt to be more unfair towards their female subordinates than male bosses are, as well as being nastier. This has been confirmed in several surveys, though, not surprisingly, not widely published. However, amongst women, it is widely accepted to be the case. Why we keep lying about it, is beyond me.

The President of India, Prathiba Patil, is a scandal ridden lady. It is totally untrue portrayal by the media to mention her when they say Women are less corrupt. She has been put in the seat by Sonia, because she could have never have dreamt to be the President and so is totally obliged to Sonia. Will do as her master says. India is already in the control of New World Order Elite. Process for all citizens to have an Unique ID is on!

Tie a knot in her hair and move on. Humans did the matriarchy thing in the very beginning, but it doesn't work out anymore for numerous reasons. If you've ever had a female boss or been with a flock of women for long, then you know that them being less corrupt simply isn't true. It's less corrupt than you, which has to do with what you are producing and where you are in castes. India should know this. Yeah, it's easy to walk down the Hall of Innocence if you have a lot of money and little responsibility/ can buy your way away from wrong, but once the levels start changing, oh my. The biggest problem with humans is that they lie a lot which jacks up everyting, makes it mudded.

Regardless of gender, almost all POLITICIANS are "corrupt", some people just seem to be unaware of that sad fact. They HAVE to be "corrupt" to even get elected, it is all part of the process, the requirement, the bureaucracy, the establishment. The "old boys club" is not unique to men, take Nancy Pelosi for example -- she's pretty, but she also happens to be pretty corrupt, or were you unaware of that for just one example? Don't get me started on Palin...

Most previous comments are right. There is not that much difference between men or women leadership, as we know, now. Doctor Martin Luther King had a dream on the mountain. If we consider Moïse receiving the 10 commandments to be exact. Perhaps should we admit that human leadership in any system known actually does not work. If we want mankind to have a future and evolute smoothly, something else has to be found. Why not, governments without politicians has we know, now. We could perfectly well set-up laws and rules to be obied without any possible escape or excuse. Heads of states will have just the privilege to represent their country. There will be no more deceitful world-wide conferences which lead nowhere and bring nothing positive to the average citizen; like the one which will take place in Prague in the near future. Humanity must scrap all nuclear warheads; not limit them to a certain number for certain countries. With friends like America, every state has the right to protect itself (simple logic)...The "stars' system, or cult of personality in monarchic-republics (like France with that Sarkonaparte 1er) and royalties are an insult to mankind's intelligence. Actually, technically, humanity progress at a fast pace but politically or institutionally, it stand still or even regress. What are the use to have great institutions to prepare peoples for leadership if we stay enslaved to greed, money, obsessive power and desire to abuse others. Since I comment on RT, I dream to see an other World governance with country like Russia, showing the best possible example because, even if this affirmation will not please certain, the Western leadership under America's command is a total failure. So far, Mr Medvedev's connivance with former US creeps secretary of state and with N-PiPO disappointed me. Nevertheless, being far away, my interpretation could be wrong. Let us hope so... Sincerely...Jean-Claude Meslin

I love women, but it's naive and also subtly prejudiced to believe they are any less prone to corruption then us men.  All power corrupts, so women are only less corrupt then men to the degree in which they do not have power.  At first, yes they may be less corrupt, but once they are as established as the men in office I doubt they will adapt to the same corrupt system.
