Calling all christians...please pray for a friend who is suffering from depression partially brought about by fear of leaving the JW's. Her name is Debbie. These folk ask the Roman Catholic Church to be brought under intense scrutiny, yet when the tables are turned they run for the hills! A cult that cannot be ignored and must not be underestimated.

Hey, Since you all know so much. About what is truth and not. Why don't you all do what they do and go out and prove what is truth. They at least will go to your door and share their thoughts with you and try to give you some hope. All you have to do is say not interested. And they leave. But if you listen there is truth in what they say and they prove it with the bible. And its not confusing, its simple to understand Why don't you use the bible and prove what you believe to others. O you cant. You do not even have the balls to do what they do and keep doing it. So until every one takes a stand and goes out and tries to have the success like they do. Then shut up. And prove it! And it better make sense, and better not be confusing. Because all you have to offer is confusion in your beliefs. Prove you believe  Hippocrates.

This is an extremist cult that originated in the USA.  What more do you need to know?  But it is right, don't ban them.  Instead make news of their many failures and publicise their abuses so that people will not be tricked by them.  They are like most Protestant sects - they try to control people in an unnatural way - only they are more extreme.

In the interest of journalism, RT would do well to do practice two things regarding this its coverage of Jehovah's Witnesses: 1) Speak with Russian Jehovah's Witnesses directly. Attend their meetings. Have a meal with them in their homes. See them for whom they are. 2) Check your sources before publishing Goeblesque propaganda as if it would journalism. RT clings to a higher standard of journalism than nearly ALL American media outlets; that is why I am both shocked and dismayed that RT did not do its homework before publishing anti-JW propaganda. The truth behind the onslaught of anti-Jehovah's Witness propaganda in Russia is that the Orthodox Church, who has been the handmaiden to every despotic Russian politician since its beginning is behind this propaganda. Why are judges, politicians, and now journalists caving into preasure from the Orthodox Church? This is laughable given the history of what that religious body has caused over the centuries to its own people. More than any other Russian institution, the Orthodox Church maintained its people in ignorance and subjugation under one despotic leader after another. (Just as all major religion has done for centuries around the world.) Can't RT see through the smoke screen that the Russian Orthodox church is blowing in your face regarding Jehovah's Witnesses? This time in your grossly biased attack on Jehovah's Witnesses, you blew it. Let them be. They are harmless good people. Either let them be, or investigate them for several months. Assign a reporter to UNBIASEDLY investigate them, then write a report on Jehovah's Witnesses. But don't regurgitate what minions of the Russian Orthodox hierachy has fed you and try to tell truth-loving people its honest journalism. I go out of my way to keep up with RT's coverage of events. But you have blown it entirely in your coverage of Jehovah's Witnesses.

First of all, I must ask: How does the Russian Gov't define "extremist"? Then there's the question of how a law abiding group of people who encourage respect for authority, paying taxes, and obedience to civil law can be considered a threat? On the other hand, by the inaccurate and snide comments made through the media, it is clear that the Orthodox Clergy, in an act of pathetic insecurity seek to malign Jehovah's Witnesses due to the fact that what the witnesses preach can be substantiated in the Bible. Also, if the Russian gov't as influenced by the Orthodox Church claims to be Christian, the proof would be in acting as Christ did. As for the refusal of blood transfusions, 1) The right of an individual to decide his or her medical treatment is fundamental. 2) Isn't the encouraged shedding of blood on behalf of an power hungry "Orthodox" Church and regime far more extremist? And far worse a crime than merely standing for a belief that is clearly spelled out in the Bible?

Banning or outlawing the JW's will work; but it is only one measure. Raising the wealth and educational level of all people is another. In the West JW's are in decline, as are other cults.

Having thorough information on a free encyclopedia like wikipedia is important to help people steer away from these cults. If a JW approaches someone in Europe for example you take your I-phone, type in the words "ex-Jehovah's Witnesses", and you have all the information you need to say: "no." It's that easy. No cult can survive being listed on wikipedia.

There are some great history works on the JW's. Jw's and the 3rd Reich by James Penton. 2 books by Edmond C Gruss: 1 the four presidentd of the Watchtower society, 2 The doctrinal changes of Jehovahs Witnesses.

The only reason why some people still believe in JW is because they are forbidden, by penalty of excommunication or shunning, to look at any critical book on their beloved "organization." They are not allowed to read any attack on JW's  because they have been told by the Watchtower to "expose false (other) religions."

Here are some facts why I left the JW's:

* they see the UN as a dangerous entity and want the ordinary JW to stay away from politics and the UN in particular, because it is supposedly going to destroy religion. Yet until 2001 their organization was registered as an NGO with the UNO.

* Their members are not allowed to support the militaty establishment, yet until 2002 the Watchtower Society held 50% of the shares of the Rand Cam corporation.

* It orders its members to live a simple relatively poor life, yet the WTS is spotted on meetings with hedge funds.

My reaction? It reminds me of the words of Paul: You then, who teach others, why do you not teach yourself?
