Julian Assange, the man behind WikiLeaks

To many people, Julian Assange, 39, is the personification of people power, brought to the very door of the powers-that-be with the introduction of the omnipresent Internet.

That Australian Journalist sounded horrified about the internet news availability rather than the content. Australian media is controlled heavily by Murdoch so I suspect that any free speech or real information would shake an Australian Journalist.

How hypocritical for USA, the self-anointed "Champion of Human Righters", to prance around the world preaching about human rights, while they themselves value human rights and lives least of all. I have no doubt at all that the Pentagon generals will begin a deliberate campaign to terrorize the Afghan people into submission through murder and mayhem. These Pentagon generals will have no difficulty convincing white Americans of the "necessity" for this bloodshed, because these people are cattle in the hands of the pro-war faction and will respond with their usual cheers of "support the troops". Nonwhite Americans do not seem to be so easily duped. Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh, an American rabid pro-war lunatic, was on his radio program advocating killing of Afghan civilians in order to "win" the war. I think the Pentagon generals are more concerned about the reaction of their NATO allies to the brutal tactics employed by US troops to crush all Afghan resistance to their occupation. If America does begin bombing and napalming Afghan towns and villages, as they did in Vietnam, the NATO allies may abandon their support for America. That is the fear of the Pentagon generals. But, then again, NATO may go along with deliberate slaughter of Afghan civilians, like they did when America mercilessly bombarded Serbia for 78 day and threatened to level Belgrade if Serbia did not leave Kosovo. Next time Barak Hussein Obama, or Hillary Clinton, show up in Moscow with their carpetbag full of human rights lectures, the Kremlin should point out the crimes America has committed against the peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq. America has sold her soul to the war hungry Pentagon generals and war profiteer.

This is proof the USA is terror incorporated and we have only seen a tip of the iceberg. There can never be peace emanating from such a purveyor of such injustice and hypocrisy on such a massive scale.

The info that was released isn't that damaging. Just stuff that a lot of America already knew.

Is this the Pot calling the Kettle black? During the Soviet War in Afghanistan – the estimated Afghan civilian deaths varied from 100,000 to 1 million. About 5 million Afghans fled to Iran and Pakistan. A great deal of damage was done to the civilian children population by the Soviets’ land mines. At Soviet checkpoints, the soldiers would search Afghan civilians' luggage for weapons. Routinely, those Afghans carrying large amounts of money were "sent to Kabul". Being sent to Kabul meant isolating the civilian and his luggage behind a wall and out of sight of the checkpoint. There, the soldiers would kill the civilian and take his money. Shall I continue with my WikiLeaks? Or is free speech now allowed here? I know this won't be posted!!

Maybe it's time a favorite American Quasi-Anthem "America the Beautiful" be updated for the 21st Century as it was written in 1913 and no longer seems to ring true anymore. Selecting a few lines from the lyrics, here are several re-write ideas: 1) "America! America! God Shed his Grace on Thee!" updated to: "America! America! God Sheds his Tears on Thee!" 2) "And Crown thy Good with Brotherhood" updated to: "And Crown thy Goons as Brother-Hoods" 3) "From Sea to Shining Sea" updated to: "From Each and Every Sea to Each and Every Shining Sea!" 4) "America! America! God Mend Thine every Flaw!" updated to: "America! America! God Mend thine Every Lack of Law!" 5) "Confirm thy Soul in Self- Control!" updated to: "Confirm thy Soul Has No Control!" 6) "Thy Liberty in Law" updated to : "Thy Liberty Now has No Law" 7) "May God Thy Gold Refine!" updated to: "May Gold No Longer be Thy God" 8) "Till All Success be Nobleness" updated to: "All this Success has No Nobleness" and finally 9) "And Every Gain Divine" Updated to: "And All These Gains are Clearly Mine - and Mine Alone - dangitallll!!!" . Editing continues.

Kihnu. You are right on the money. This has become a war for profit, it's not going to stop till the money dries up.

Yet, while everything is known, it seems that hidden in plain sight are conclusions most dare not make. First, Taliban is Pakistan/US/Saudi creation. Hundreds of madrassas were set up in Pakistan to round up the children of the poor, and make them the crusaders in the post-soviet Afghanistan. It all looked so simple. All they needed was to eliminated the Soviet-supported government in Kabul, and voila --- Hindu Kush is under control. Well, Taliban and Pakistan had other ideas. Taliban upon gaining of control over Kabul became Pakistani outpost, and not willing to play along. Last time Taliban were vined and dined in White House was in August, 2001, to cement the pipeline deal between Taliban and Unical. The deal was given to Argentina. In few days, Argentina had a financial turmoil, followed by 9-11, and invasion of Afghanistan. Presumably, Osama bin Laden did it, and his camps of few hundred trainees became the reason for war. Since then, Pakistan, US and Taliban have continued to define the control of Afghanistan; the collaboration with Taliban is not Pakistani invention, it is Holbrooke's mission. Second obvious mess is the absence of any training. Billions dollars are spent, none of that given to Karzai government, and not ONE pilot was trained, so the "central" government in Kabul is just the designated whipping boy for "corruption" and "incompetent military". How sweet. Who cares where the money went. And if the deal is not cut with Taliban, NATO will migrate to the Tajik/Uzbek territory in the north, occupying them, and treathening both Taliban and the helpless neighboring Central Asia from that spot. This is "plan B". Unless money runs out, or Europe gives up.

Like so many others, you bought into the Assange propaganda and include his theme in your broadcast. You incorrectly refer to the Apache helicopter pilots as "Killers of innocent civilians." Obviously, you have placed your confidence in the Assange version and you have not analyzed the long version of the video for yourself! If you want to campaign against the war use some other material. Not this military video! Here the Reuters employees were imbedded with insurgents. The men killed were armed insurgents.

I love how some call Assange's information propagand. If anyone knows propaganda, it's America's Lamestream media. Their non-reporting of serious issues that matter is quite telling. Their ignoring and marginalizing Ron Paul is blatantly obvious. No one watches the news in America anymore, and if they do, they are still getting the story from other news outlets...simply because American "news" coverage is bullshit or spun like crazy. No one trusts CBS, NBC or ABC anymore. And rightly so!!
