By focusing on cutting carbon emissions, the world won’t prevent global warming, says Bjorn Lomborg from the Copenhagen Consensus Centre. Making green fuels cheaper instead will speed up the process, he told RT.
As I explained in an other topic, our planet obey to geological natural laws. Her axis change and we go from cold periods to hot in scales which take 100000 years. Beside Earth is a body which react like any other body. For te past 2000 years, it has been relatively calm; no super-volcans like Yellowstone has exploded (it happen every 200000 years). Since the Krakatoa's eruption (over 100 years ago), no major cataclysm has occured. The only calamity is the expension of that nuisible creature which could have done a lot better since it has the faculty of intelligence. Mankind is the proxysme of extrems: that specie can do very good things but also very bad ones. Under the influence of money enslavery and decisions taken by its masters, the negative aspirations of men has taken over. One political system has been and still is the initiator of all the detrimental decisions taken by our planetary institutions. This must change ! The huge amount of money wasted for our self-destruction industry must be reconverted in usefull programs: development of permanent energies, control of mankind's demography (regerdless of political or religious institutions' thoughts), better repartition of humans accross the planet, respect and living'space given for the other spicies sharing this planet with us and suprem attention requested for our planet's health. This means; in the actual context, a radical change of priorities for whole Humanity. Unfortunatly, the Copenague-meeting will end with a compromised manifesto with loose pledges for a 20 to 50 years' period. Nobody will sudently decide to scrapt his 2010 defense-budget and send that money to Africa, allowing that continent to modernise itself and incidently master its demograhy. Western businessmen (politicians'bosses) prefer developping virus like SIDA and H1N1 to regulate the population and underdvelopped countries like Columbia or Afghanistan produce drugs to do likewise to us. Sorry Future Generations ! Jean-claude Meslin

Providing that preventing "climate change" is really the objective. All kinds of objectives are wrapped up in this one, climate change is not one of them. Why not simplify and translate the real problems, as well as the opportunism that is the force behind the hoopla. First, the planet is getting dirty. Health officials in all countries became long time ago the high priest of governmental soothsaying, not the protector of public health. Health officials know, or should know, that the pollution of air, soil, drinking waters and oceans is endangering the planet, not the climate change. However, they cannot just come out and say. We have so neglected this planet, and now in a short amount of time, it may become unlivable, and may not sustain the growth of plants, animals and fish that we rely on to survive. They cannot say that industrial scale agriculture has become the heaven of monocultures that are not resistant to diseases. And that endless amounts of chemicals as well as genetic engineering are the answers to this industrial-sized plague. Of course, they will not say that we have no clue what consuming genetically modified substances would do to our own immune system, or our reproductive DNA. With all that going on --- it is the climate, yeah, the climate is the problem! Now the inconvenient fact is that the climate is getting COLDER not warmer. So, the slick and almost invisible shift from Global Warming to Climate Change. As it has been established eons ago, temperatures oscilate periodically in cycles, as well as along a long-term trends related to the change of the earth's axis. However, the global money is needed to clean up, and set up supra-national bodies to make decisions away from the "messy" democracy.
