The UK is indicating to Serbia that it should focus on joining the EU, rather than contesting Kosovo's declaration of independence.

Well this is interesting the European Union getting tough on Serbia for not focusing on EU Membership rather the issues surrounding the illegal independent Kosovo, I hate to say this but this is beginning to sound like should I dare say it..... "Imperialism" by the European Union. If Belgrade wishes to deal with it's own domestic issues they have every right to do so till it is settled peacefully. What the European Union should do is let Serbia and Kosovo solve their differences then discuss their respective futures for European Status. However if either side does not settle their issues then I think the European Bus for membership will probably pass by them both. So this is a complicated issue and hopefully no strife will breakout this is the last thing that these two need. Now as I have stated Imperialism is taking ones own sovereignty and integrating it into another's so they should not rush Serbia and would make Serbia a little frustrated by the haste of the European Union. However Serbia is indeed interested in joining the EU whilst keeping good relations with Russia, Serbia has less than four months away to sign their Membership Status into the European Union so the clock is ticking if they cannot resolve their differences they wont join but if they do they will join so this will be interesting to see how all this will play out. Thank you RT for putting this one up.

There are no binding legal agreements when they are made under duress..NATO's destruction of Yugoslavia is no more 'legal' than the Nazi destruction of Yugoslavia in WWII & the Austro-Hungarian destruction of Serbia in WWI...There is no such thing as an 'independent' Kosovo...There is no such thing as a 'nation' of Bosnia...Both of these entities are EU colonies occupied by NATO forces as a result of a war that destroyed the sovereignty of Yugoslavia and are held together by military force and economic blackmail...There is nothing 'legal' about any of this....no more than any of the other colonies the Imperial Brits/Europeans created out of thin air to suit their economic purposes. .Greedy Serbs thinking they will benefit from the new EU 'Raj' will be quickly marginalized by western European bureaucrats who will run Serbia like Bosnia & Kosovo ..by force disguised in foreign laws.

The Quslings in power in Serbia are under huge pressure from their British osses to recognize first NATO state Kosovo, but the worst part of all is that "oppostion" party under "SNS-Tomislav Nikolic" is becoming a lot more Quslings then governmetn itself. Serbia is simply dying in every segment of it's life. But the good thing in all of this that finaly, main sponsors of attacks and geocide against serbs and occupations of kosovo are comming out of the shadows for the world to see them. That is Great Britain and most likely U.S.A (not averaged Britons and Amerikans by their masters) being the curtains. I call upon Russia and China to help out in this destruction of one small nation, because, they will not stop there. By the way. "united" Europe will not last very long.

It is obvious that all diplomatic and political options regarding peaceful resolution of Kosovo illegal separation, enforced on Serbia by the mightiest military power in the world NATO, are exosted. The only political option given to Serbia "at gun point", is to give up own territorial and political sovereignty, not only in Kosovo, but in the other multiethnic territories inside Serbia' proper too. Which is, again, uniquely OK-eyed by EU and USA only in Serbian case, but when it comes to own "cases" across EU, which are already boiling under surface with separatist aspirations; It is strictly opposed to, by the Western Powers. Once the Westphalian principle was broken, in Serbian "case", "Pandora box" was open not only in EU, but across the globe. And many more illegal separations are yet to come, and there wouldn't be any legal arguments left to oppose to them. Back to Serbia: As some commentators already had observed, Serbia has nothing to benefit by joining EU (same as Romania, or Bulgaria did not)... On the other hand, by staying “cooperative” with Western Powers, without violating own sovereignty and national dignity, and in same time by starting to look for other friendly nations around the world, outside the western block; Serbia should be able to gain economical and military strength in the near future. Once the military power balance is again shifted from the West to the East, Serbia has to be ready; If even then the political resolution for Kosovo is off the table, Serbia will have no option but to regain the sovereignty over the own Kosovo’ territory by use of the military force. This is not only the last resort for Serbia, but it is as well Serbian government and army’ obligation under the current Constituon.

Look familiar? The start of WWI..... On July 23, 1914, the Austro-Hungarian government issued an ultimatum to Serbia containing ten demands. The ultimatum insisted that Austria-Hungary be allowed to participate in Serbia’s investigation of Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s assassination and, in particular, to take direct part in the judicial process against the suspects. The demands also required Serbia to stamp out all forms of anti-Austrian activism and propaganda emanating from the country. The ultimatum, written by members of the Austrian Council of Ministers, was specifically intended to be humiliating and unacceptable to Serbia. On July 25, however, Serbia accepted Austria-Hungary’s demands almost entirely—aside from just a few conditions regarding Austria’s participation in the judicial process against the criminals. Austria-Hungary’s response was swift: its embassy in Serbia closed within a half hour of receiving Serbia’s answer, and three days later, on July 28, Austria declared war on Serbia. On July 29, the first Austrian artillery shells fell on Serbia’s capital, Belgrade.

Al long as there are Quislings in power in Belgrade with the Quisling-minded so called "opposition", Serbia will be driven to self destruction. Most of the people know that, but West simply used their puppets in power to consolidate hold on Serbia and they can do anything they want now. Only Russia and China can help out, but other then that, Serbs will soon become hamburger and coca-cola slaves with their share of mandatory vaccinations and anti-depressants for each household.

Again in WWII - almost a total repeat of WWI...The NATO invasion was a repeat of WWII.....These events prove one thing..whether the Serbs cave or fight the result is always the same...The West with deep-seated hypocrisy and an arrogant sense of superiority to Slavic cultures does what it wants without regard to legality...When will the naive Slavs understand they are not members of the Western club unless they are mopping the floors? With the outbreak of World War II, and the Anschluss ("union") between Austria and Germany, pressure was placed on Yugoslavia to more closely ally itself Germany, despite Yugoslavia's declared neutrality. But fear of an invasion like that suffered by France pushed Yugoslavia into signing a "Friendship Treaty"--something short of a formal political alliance--on December 11, 1940.Yugoslavia refrained from joining the Axis until March 25, 1941, when it made this move under duress. Two days later, a pro-Allied military coup took place in Belgrade and Yugoslavia’s alliance with the Axis was aborted. The invasion of Yugoslavia by German, Hungarian and Bulgarian forces began a week and a half later (April 6), and the Yugoslav army lay down its arms on April 1
