A court in Moscow is to declare its ruling on a case involving an ultra-right wing group which is facing charges of extremism and inciting hatred.
I find it is extremely repulsive when I see pitiful attempts to pollute the NAME of Slavic solidarity and brotherhood between Slavic peoples with such dirt like Nazi ideology. There are two reasons for this. First, it was Slavic peoples themselves who were together with the Jews the biggest victims of the Nazi ideology. Hitler tried to exterminate Slavs on racial grounds. Second, Slavs themselves are not very homogeneous in physical types. For example Russians in the western Russia or southern Russia or Siberia are not of the same exact physical type. Therefore any idea of connecting Nazi ideology with anything having Slavic name is extremely ANTI-Slavic. It can hurt Slavs. So why do they do that? Since I have observed these filthy fascist trends for quite some time I tend to believe that this is not an accident but intention. Maybe the idea is to inhibit any idea of rapprochement between Slavic peoples by polluting the NAME of Slavic unity? Maybe these obscure groups are financed by the same foreign centers which fueled tensions between Ukraine and Russia in the recent years? Lets not forget that the same foreign centers were also behind destruction of Yugoslavia and USSR. Lets not forget that many western countries were giving shelter to fascists and even terrorists who were spreading ethnic and religious hatred and sent them to Yugoslavia (e.g. Bugojanska grupa in 1972). Are there these forces inhibiting Slavic solidarity in the Russian power structure? We will see. If these obscure racist and fascist groups are used merely as a pretext to ban all political parties and/or organizations advocating Slavic solidarity and brotherhood (in the similar way solidarity and integration is advocated in Latin America) then we will know who is actually behind these fascist groups. I support HARSH punitive measures against ALL those fascist groups who spread ethnic/racial/religious hatred and especially when they pollute Slavic NAME with their filthy subversive propaganda.
Artyom, excellent post. I expressed somewhat similar views, but the keen-eyed RT staff felt it violated decorum.
Clearly, there are groups that want to start a civil war in Russia; we see them in forms of Russian ultra nationalists or separatist groups in caucuses. It is the old politics of divide and rule. These groups are both sides of the same coin, and in my opinion may be directed, financed from outside by the same agitators. Though, the foot soldiers in these groups, who carry these attacks, may not even know that. Obviously, if these groups go unchecked, there is a potential that they turn Russia into another Yugoslavia or Lebanon, with disastrous consequence for the world peace. It is very important to find the people responsible, and interrogate them extensively by the intelligence officials. A civil war in Russia is not to the best interest of US, China or any other peace loving country in the world and I do not think any of them is involved in this, so we should ask the question what country or groups benefits from a civil war in Russia? People trafficking mafia, that supply prostitutes to west European countries, and Israel are some of the beneficiaries of a potential civil war in Russia. Funny thing is that the same sort of thing is happening in USA now. There are forces that want to drive US into Civil unrest or war, similar to LA riots or civil war. The recent law in Arizona is a shame. This is not the way neighbors should treat each other. As a US citizen, I am ashamed of this law and am very concerned about raise of fascism in my country and possibility of Civil unrest (or war) in my country.
I believe in the principles of democracy, hence it gives everyone the opportunity to participate in the goverment of their own lives and that of their nation. The other side of the coin, however, is that such dirt as neonazis are allowed to exist. It is a very difficult paradox. However, people who advocate racial superiority do not deserve democracy, they deserve punishment. I don't remember where I heard it, but I believe it to be absolutely true - "Slavophile nationalism will be the death of Russia". Russia - a multinational and multiconfessional state, can only thrieve and prosper on Eurasianist principles - a healthy symbiosis of the Slavic, Turk and Caucasian cultures. Religious and cultural autonomy is the key to a new Russian superpower.
One would have to be instantly suspicious of a group calling themselves 'Slavic Unity' or the likes but then carrying around Swastikas, either they have a very poor marketing campaign or they clearly just do not care as to the obvious emotion the symbols carry, if the reality is the second then there must be reasons they have such a campaign, but none of those reasons in my opinion are a threat to Russia's national security if one looks at the sheer size of the society these groups can be studied for much more benefit, to gauge and create policy to easily counteract these 'misfits' designs. In a system of law , it is a much bigger risk (in my opinion) to ban a group based solely on its ideas, but of course individuals are different, if an individual commits a violent act, punish them to the full extent of the law, this I believe is the line, by banning a group where do you draw the line? Ban extreme ideas? Ban ideas associated with extreme ideas ? Ban ideas? Ban Extreme Opinions? Ban opinions associated with extreme Opinions? Ban Opinions? it is my opinion that this is another 'Gun law' style issue where by people advocate the banning of personal weapons because of 'Gun crime' where individuals cause 'Gun crime' and the population of law abiding Gun owners receives the blame. Banning these types of groups , literally any of them, from extreme communists to extreme right wing to extreme integrationists is just another chip away at Russian society and in my opinion represents a loss not a win. keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Of course not to imply that any single group is an enemy, again, individuals are different.

These groups form because the government doesn't enforce immigration and working laws. The same happens between Mexico and the United States. Big business wants cheap labor, government enjoys their kick backs from these companies, and the citizens not only lose out on jobs and wages, but has to deal with lower educated illegals working here. It isn't the fault of the individual as always. The attitude of these migrant workers usually is kicking feet up on bus seats and pushing others around. I heard about them complaining about the TV show Nasha Russia, they should thank them, now sue them. They make those migrant workers look cute. Now to stereotyping is very dangerous. As the migrant workers cleaning our streets and tending the garbage in our neighborhood work hard and have always been nice to me. So what I ask of the government is to make our borders respected, fight this corruption in big business that has motives to import the cheap labor forces. Those that come here and respect they are guests here or try to assimilate to our culture are ALWAYS welcome. Rule number 1 for all immigrants. You are the one choosing to move to a different nation, the nation isn't choosing you. So if it is a different language, LEARN IT. Remember you are going to someone else's country so respect their culture. Then in return it would be back on our part to show respect in return. I did all this in respects to America. I found America very insulting allowing Latin Americans just to be able to work and live like they want while I made effort to learn English, respect the laws of the land, and to follow all their rules on immigration. I jumped through hoops while others got free rides. Anyways, my point is the government can avoid these "Making an Example" trials over xenophobia by fighting corruption dealing with migrants. And Migrants can avoid being targets by not coming here and being хозяин. Many believe Russia for Russians as they see this lack of respect.
