The first global conference on road safety has opened on Thursday in Moscow, to join efforts in tackling traffic injuries, which are among the leading causes of death and disability worldwide.
I never was in Russia, but what some drivers do here...especially younglings with supercars...they must show themselves , in the process hitting other car from the front, usually killing innocent people while theyre left unharmed (because expensive cars are likely to save you). Drivers in general seem to think nothing ever is gonna happen to them, its always others not them... But once other family member told me he had a guy like this, He went 200-250 Km/h in Košice, he totally destroyed his car...he looked fine, except his head was cut off perfectly. Grim irony I´d say. It is better when they kill themselves, not others.

One of the problems lies in the psychology of man. He gets behind the wheel and loses common sense, loses patience, and drives more erratically to save time. No one wants to be sitting behind another vehicle in traffic. The feeling of moving forward or moving in front of a line creates a lot of accidents. Also, particular to Russians, we are some of the craziest people on earth. I've seen some drivers go off the road, across sidewalks and drive down the trolley tracks to get past the traffic. It is also common for people here to use an Emergency vehicle as a personal escort through traffic. The amount of complete idiocy on Russian roads is extreme. Then there are the road warriors, self trained, "I'm professional racer and I do donuts in parking lots", type person who will speed down MKAD doing 250 km/h. Russian roads are terrible because of the weather in most cases. It is harsher here and the climate tears our roads up pretty quick. However, some are just plain horrifying because they receive no care what so ever. These become more dangerous than driving off road. Other than these issues, most may find common in their cities, there is isn't much different. We have accidents because there are people behind the wheel.
